Three Reasons Why Shipping Containers Make Excellent Portable Rooms

Posted on

Whether you have a construction site that you are setting up or a big wedding that you need to cater for, most of these events will need portable rooms for a wide variety of reasons. The first thing you think of is probably not a shipping container, although you may be surprised at just how useful and multi-faceted they can be. If you are in constant need of hiring out any of the portable buildings mentioned below, then you might want to consider buying a shipping container and modifying it. Chances are it will be much stronger and longer-lasting, as well as cheaper overall, than continuing to do what you are doing.

Toilet Block

Portable toilets can be a bit of a nightmare, especially for bigger events. A few dingey toilet cubicles get disgusting very quickly, especially in the hot sun. Shipping containers can be very easily transformed into a makeshift toilet block, with cubicles and urinals installed as well as a self-contained plumbing system. This is perfect for long-term construction sites or big corporate events being held outside. You can even get showers installed for sites where workers are expected to get dirty during their shift.

Lunch Areas

Providing a safe area for your employees to eat and relax during their lunch break might sound like a secondary need, but as any foreman will tell you, a happy crew is a productive crew. Shipping containers can be insulated and air-conditioned to provide a nice, space for people to relax, and then all it takes is a few benches and you have a portable and very easy-to-maintain lunch area. This will be much appreciated in big outdoor workplaces where shade is hard to come by, such as on mining sites, infrastructure projects or even agricultural jobs.

Electrical Hub

if your event or project requires a lot of power that has to be managed very precisely, then you probably have a need for a switchboard room. Almost every major business will have a switchboard room, but if you have to be mobile, then this can be a bit of a conundrum. The solution? A shipping container that is specifically fitted to hold all your electrical needs. These are watertight and very strong so they will not get buffeted around by wind or rain and extremely simple to move around when the time comes. For construction sites, there is no better way to house a switchroom than with a shipping container.
